Kimmane Rathnakar

Kimmane Ratnakar was born in 1951 in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district. He completed his schooling in Thirthahalli. Later he completed his graduation from Bhuvendra College, Karkala. He completed his law degree in 1966 from BMS Law College.

Kimmane Ratnakar is a professional lawyer and politician who served as Karnataka’s Minister for Primary and Secondary Education and Education from 2013 to 2016. He was a member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly from 4 June 2008 to 16 May 2018 from Tirthahalli constituency in Shimoga district. In 2013, Kimmane Ratnakar (Indian National Congress) defeated RM Manjunath Gowda (KJP) by 1343 votes to become a member of the Legislative Assembly for the second consecutive term. He belongs to the Indian National Congress.
